The Never-Ending Mould Battle

Ah, mould – it’s like an unwanted guest that refuses to leave, no matter how many times you ask politely. Every few weeks, I get armed with my trusty mould killer and attack the ceilings and windows upstairs. It works, for a while anyway. The mould vanishes, giving me a few precious days of victory.

But, as sure as night follows day, it comes back – like a bad penny. Especially in the kids' rooms. I can’t help but suspect their window and ceiling-drying enthsiasm isnt as high as mine. When they shut their doors, they shut me out too. My gentle reminders to open a window or wipe the condensation away seem to vanish along with the sound of my voice, leaving the damp to fester until I’m back the next day, scrubbing away for round two.

To keep the upper hand, we’ve got two 20-litre dehumidifiers – one upstairs, one downstairs – doing their best to keep things dry. But with electricity prices through the roof, I’ve got to ration their usage like it's a family heirloom. Still, there’s something almost magical about the amount of moisture they suck up in just a few hours. It’s like the dehumidifiers are on a mission to save the world, one litre at a time. It’s truly a sight to behold!

But no matter how much I try, it’s the same cycle, over and over. You can bet I’m never far from the mould cleaner and the dehumidifiers, ready for the next round. At this point, I think I’m getting as good at fighting mould as I am at mowing the lawn! But hey, someone’s got to keep it under control, right?
